08/06/2010 - MANILA, Philippines – Authorities have added 18 bomb sniffing dogs to beef up security at Manila airports following a bomb attack that killed 2 persons at the Zamboanga International Airport on Thursday.
Major General Vicente Guerzon, Assistant General Manager for Security and Emergency Services (AGM-SES) at the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), said the dogs will be deployed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminals 1, 2 and 3 and at the old Manila Domestic Airport.
The dogs and members of the Airport police underwent a bomb detection seminar and recently emerged as champion in the Inter Law Enforcement Bomb Detection competition.

The deployment was in response to the bombing attack that killed 2 persons and left more than 20 others wounded at the airport in Zamboanga.
