08/31/2010 - MALACANANG on Monday ordered strengthening security of all government websites following the hacking incidents of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and Bulacan government websites Sunday.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said: “We will make sure that all our websites are secured.”
Aside from the PIA, other two official websites of the President are www.president.gov.ph and www.gov.ph.
As of this posting, investigators remain clueless on the identities of the hackers but the operations of the sites returned to normal.
“Kung sakali gawa eto ng Pilipino, napaka-iresponsable naman nila, wag sana nilang gawin yun. Wag na nilang e-escalate ang sitwasyon,” said Lacierda.
Malacanang was also convinced that the hacking of Bulacan website has something to do with the hostage-crisis as the message posted on the site demanded the apology of the Philippine government to its China counterpart.
Meanwhile, there have been replacements of photos posted on the official website of the President after he got flak over his smile following the bloody incident.
